The Dialogue & Action Platform for Sustainable Consumption and Production Conference was held in Wuppertal (Germany) from 16-18 March 2009. More than 90 representatives from civil society organisations (CSOs), research and policy institutions followed the invitation of Action Town and the CSO-Platform on SCP project, another CSO project co-funded under the 7th Research Framework Programme (see: www.scp-dialogue.net), who jointly organised the event.

Aim of the conference was to offer to the different, mainly European actors a common platform for discussion and action towards more sustainability in consumption and production. The focus was lying on giving support to CSOs by highlighting different options for actions to drive a more sustainable consumer behaviour and to influence policy processes, as well as to strengthen their influence by cooperating with research institutions.
